universi statement

Nature, beauty and human folly are among my subjects of research.

Yet, the kind of beauty I work with is not univocal.

The images I make speak of an underlying visceral need to be reconnected to nature.

The images I make are also achieved through toxic and polluting photographic processes that are damaging to the environment I claim to love.

These works are about the realization of my own contradictory relationship with nature - me being an archetype of human.

UNIVERSI 2000 - present

Ongoing series of gelatin silver prints, manipulated with a variety of photographic, household, and industrial chemicals.

Text and hand-made alterations are often present.

Due to the impulsive and random nature of this process, the prints in this series are unique exemplars, monoprints.

Sizes are circa 28x28 inches, 23x33 inches.
